Since I was out of town, it was also another love challenge continued on without need of service/action to my husband. Fortunately, I had an natural opportunity to say my appreciation before leaving on my trip.
Today’s Love Dare is: ON A SHEET OF PAPER, WRITE OUT POSITIVE THINGS ABOUT YOUR SPOUSE. AT SOME POINT DURING THE DAY, PICK A POSITIVE ATTRIBUTE FROM THE LIST AND THANK YOUR SPOUSE FOR HAVING THE CHARACTERISTIC.
This was a cinch.
From my journal (separate from my blog):
- Will eat what I cook
From this list I think I thanked my spouse for being quite thoughtful about helping me do things [for my trip] like pack my luggage into the car and wait for me to leave to Monterey.
Before leaving on my trip that morning, I had made sure to thank him for waiting up, helping me pack up and sending me and my friends off. He worked a 12 hour shift and still managed to keep awake while I was finishing getting things sorted and ready before my friends arrived. Although, I asked him to go get some rest, he refused. Just wanted to spend some time with me (even though I was going only for one night).
My husband has long been a caretaker. He refused to leave his grandmother’s side when his mother asked him to move back home to the Philippines for worry of his grandmother being left alone. He was only 7 years old when this happened.
His personal history will not be shared here (or ever). But just know, these characteristics are beyond what has ever been taught to him. It’s weird to me sometimes how deep he can be. But that’s for me to know. LOL. None of you will ever get to know.
For this challenge, I think was an easy win.
I’ll catch you in the next post!
I’m trying to punch these out at fast as I can. Damn, Netflix! – distractions aren’t helping. LOL.
